30 in 30 Painting Challenge

Yesterday I started my first 30 in 30 painting challenge.  This challenge was started by artist Leslie Saeta and its not her first one.  But it is my first one and I’m terrified.  I’m filled with what ifs.  I realized that I was taking this a tad too seriously when I told a friend about it and she said “oh fun!” and I realized that “fun” was NOT what I was anticipating!    So, I adjusted my attitude and decided that I would enjoy it rather than seeing it as another of the many things on my to-do list.  And that made all the difference in the world.  I’m a big believer in attitude adjustment (as long as I’m the one instigating it…..)

Most of my paintings for this challenge will be part of my 6×6″ cloud series.  I’ve been invited to participate again in the Guardino Gallery Little Things Show this December and the clouds are going there.  This is the 18th annual Little Things show and its a very popular event.  Last year the opening was jam packed and I could barely get my quivering self over to my paintings.  I’ve since learned to not be so frightened of gallery receptions (practice and …..you got it, attitude adjustment) so I expect to be more functional this year.  If you are in Portland, Oregon this December, stop in Guardino on Alberta Street and do your holiday shopping.  You won’t be disappointed.
